Making a rare but appreciated appearance at Cottesmore was the Defence Research Agency's meteorological research Hercules W2, affectionately known as 'Snoopy'.
An extremely rare UK appearance was made by this US Navy E-6B Mercury as it tracks down the runway prior to departing the show.
The Royal Jordanian Air Force have traditionally supported the tattoo with this year being no exception, as demonstrated by the spirited departure by one of their Hercules transports.
A welcome appearance was made by this Antonov AN-72 'Coaler' from the Ukrainian Air Force.
An excellent shot of a Royal Norwegian Air Force Hercules arriving at the tattoo. For pictures taken in bright conditions Fuji Velvia is second to none.
It was nice once again to see the Douglas DC-4 of the South African Airways Historic Flight that last appeared at RIAT '97.
Taking off in typical Dutch style is a C-130H-30 of the Royal Netherlands Air Force.
After appearing at RIAT '99 it was nice to see the NATO E-3A Sentry still sporting its specially painted 50th Anniversary scheme.
Another special scheme, this time on a Royal Danish Air Force Hercules.
Always an interesting sight, a New York Air National Guard LC-130H Hercules normally used for Arctic operations. This immaculate aircraft won the Airlift 2000 Concours d'Elegance competition.
