One benefit from the change of venue for this year's RIAT was the uncluttered and attractive backdrop to shots of arriving aircraft, like this Dutch F-16B.
A typical RIAT scene near the end of the Friday, as the final aircraft are prepared for static display prior to the show.
The departure day offers the opportunity to photograph rare visitors such as this Greek Air Force F-4E Phantom.
In my opinion the French Air Force Mirage F1 duo give as good a fast jet demonstration as you're likely to see anywhere. Why can't the RAF show the same degree of imagination and do something similar with a couple of Tornado F3's maybe?
It was good to see a USAF F-15C demo that had not performed at an Air Tattoo for a number of years.
What other show gives the opportunity of getting this type of shot? Two Luftwaffe MiG-29A's prepare to depart Cottesmore.
Making its first appearance since attending IAT '94 it was great to see the French Air Force who supported the event admirably, send this Mirage IVP.
Another increasingly rare bird, a 39 Sqn Canberra PR9.
A total of eight CF-18's from Canada supported the event, two CF-18A's are seen here departing the show.
One of the most colourful participants of RIAT 2000 was one of the Mirage F1's from the French Air Force duo, pictured here on arrival.
The Danish Air Force always support the Air Tattoo in force, with two of their F-16B's shown here.
Most punters turned up on the departures day to see this, the Ukrainian Air Force 'Backfire' returning home. The power from its engines certainly helped warm up the watching crowd suffering from the dreary weather conditions!
