Show Report

Airbourne 2002

Eastbourne

Show details
Date 15th - 18th August 2002
Weather Bright and warm throughout although a little hazy at times.
Comment A good variety of aircraft were on show again this year with the highlight once again being the Belgian Air Force F-16A MLU who this year also sent an Alpha Jet in a very attractive scheme. The role demo conducted on the beach by the RAF Chinook HC2 was again impressive and has much more impact than at an airfield venue. The "Red Arrows" performed on 3 of the 4 days (not Sunday) with their Saturday performance being affected by some idiot microlight flyer.

F-16A MLU

Until the RAF gets to display the Typhoon, it has no way of competing with the likes of this stunning display from an F-16A MLU of the Belgian Air Force pictured displaying during the afternoon on the Thursday.
